«The public has to be ready to assume the role of extra-parliamentary opposition», - Maksym Latsyba said at the Open World Discussion Club that was held at the initiative of Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation on November 5th in Kyiv.

During the Discussion Club young experts had an opportunity to communicate and ask questions to renowned Ukrainian political analyst Oleksiy HARAN and Program Director at the Ukrainian Center for Independent Political Research Maksym LATSYBA.

Commenting on changes taking place in Ukraine after Maidan Oleksiy Haran noted that Ukraine found itself in its traditional situation when radical breakup with the past is not taking place. «What is happening in Ukraine for the last six months showed that we unfortunately will not have a radical breakup with the past, but evolutionary transformation is still quite possible», - the experienced expert said.

Also the political analyst stressed on extreme importance that the parliamentary elections were held in Ukraine. He highlighted that after the majority is formed, there is a chance to implement reforms, including unpopular ones. «People for the second time gave a credit of trust to the parties of power. This is a huge credit, which now has to be justified», - Mr. Haran said.

Mr. Latsyba fully agreed with his colleague and noted that the major reform that has to be primarily completed is a buildup a new government. «We need a new and efficient government», - he said. «Then we have to demand from him to implement reforms of justice and human security, specifically electoral, judicial, law enforcement, public prosecution reforms, defense, decentralization reform, and not only in terms of powers, but also budgetary, administrative and anticorruption reforms».

Also co-founder of the Reanimation Package of Reforms repeatedly highlighted that a politician cannot be left alone with the power. «Civil society has to demand to make reforms. Our major goal – control and pressure. We must be ready to assume a role of extra-parliamentary opposition», - he observed.
