«Our objective was to convey to the audience the flavour of Ukrainian traditions by the means of contemporary music, new images and new vision. And we tried to show the values that our nation had laid in the ancient ages. In addition, the integration of traditions with modernity is inherent in our every song. However, specifically today we have explained our creativity through performance. And it appeared that our idea was heartily accepted by the audience» the performers of the group said.
At FACES Art Club VRODA presented several new songs and appeared in new images, designed by Lilia Bratus on this occasion.
«Today we would like to illuminate a light around us and pass this energy to people. We wanted that after our performance the people left the hall with the optimistic feelings, motivated with energy, committed to positive and pleasant changes. Indeed, as we sing in our new song “Christmas Miracle” we have to believe in miracles and then they will do come true» the singers said.
The music programme was prepared by founder of the group, Ukrainian composer Vasyl Tkach. In addition to the author’s songs (V. Tkach is an author of lyrics and music for all the group’s songs, - Ed.) the famous Ukrainian carols and Christmas songs were presented in new form at the Art Club.
Apart from the present guests, the carols were shared with Children Ensemble «Zernyatko», who created a Christmas atmosphere by their ritual seed sowing at Chasopys hall.
According to Taras Mykhalnyuk, Director of Open Ukraine Foundation, such activities are needed for Ukrainians, first of all, not to make them forget their own roots and traditions, and secondly, introduce them to the quality modern art.

FACES Art Club, initiated by Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation in partnership with Chasopys Creative Space, are regular open meetings with Ukrainian and foreign writers, musicians, artists, designers, film directors, photographers and other culture representatives.
