The third section – Art from Ukraine: Myths and Legends of the Eastern Europe. Part II – will be held between 23.11.2013 and 14.12.2013.
Overall, it is planned to show the works of around twenty Ukrainian artists. In addition to Ukrainian artists, the exhibition will present a number of Western artists who will try to find an answer to the following questions: “What is the perception of our country in the Western Europe? What is the perception of Ukrainians from the Westerners' point of view?”
“The joint Ukrainian-Dutch cultural project to establish contacts and provide for further cultural exchange has been set to get underway. The dialogue between the West and the East is taking place in real time. In addition, within the framework of our project Ukrainian artists entered an independent international cultural arena”, emphasized Iryna Berezhko.
It should be noted that for already five straight years the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation has been running the Cultural Horizons programme aimed at promoting Ukrainian culture abroad and integrating Ukrainian art into the global context. Within the framework of the programme, the Open Ukraine Foundation provides travel grants to Ukrainian artists to participate in international festivals, exhibitions and contests and, respectively, present cultural achievements of the modern Ukraine.
