Digest summarizes the main ideas and recommendations that emerged during discussions by experts from more than 20 countries, the most pressing trends in the security of Europe and the Black Sea region.
Each chapter of the digest ends with an expert analytical articles and practical advice. In particular, in this year's digest were presented practical recommendations for Ukraine from a group of experts working on it during the Forum.
The digest also contains the most interesting and most critical citations of speakers that reveal key trends in building security in the world, point out the security challenges of the Black Sea region and Europe, warn about the growing importance of cyber security, focus on present Ukraine and the future of Europe, reiterate energy security, in particular “shale revolution”, and also discuss on growing problem of free speech.

The annual international event Kyiv Security Forum launched by Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation in 2007 is a platform for debate on the most pressing security issues in Europe and the Black Sea Region. The aim of the Forum is to strengthen security cooperation between the European Union and the Black Sea Region, raising awareness about security development among key players, strengthening the role of independent and non-governmental actors in solving security problems in Europe.
The event is supported by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, the Black Sea Trust for Regional Cooperation of the Marshall Fund (USA), NATO Information and Documentation Center in Ukraine and the Royal Institute of International Affairs (UK)..
