With the support of Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation “Open Ukraine” Odessa’s cellists duet “Violoncellissimo” performed a concert at the National Ukraine Cultural Centre in Moscow and took part in the International Theater Festival, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Russian Futurism.

During the Theatrical Festival premiered opera “The One who Bound Time with Space” performed by the duet “Violoncellissimo” with music and libretto by Vadym Larchikov, and poetic and prose works by Velimir Khlebnikov. And at the Ukrainian National Cultural Center in Moscow – music and poetry program of the duet “Music and Lyrics of the new Ukraine.”

Both performances went with great success and were warmly received by the audience. The premiere of the over opera was called by the Artistic director of the festival H. Chervinskyi “a real discovery for the Moscow audience” and even “the climax of the festival.”

It is important that this project was the only one which within this year's festival represented work by Velimir Khlebnikov. Most of the participants turned to work of Vladimir Mayakovsky. Also, it was the only musical theatrical project, the rest was in the genre of drama theater. Participation of duet “Violoncellissimo” gave a new dimension to the festival and allowed to expand its boundaries.

Also the program of the Theatrical Festival featured works by Serhiy Zazhytko “Epitaph to Marquis de Sade,” Lyudmyla Samodayeva “Forgotten Dancing,” Alla Zahaykevych “Gravitation,” Victoria Poleva “Voice,” Lyudmyla Yurina “Distance” and Vadym Larchikov “Inter Lacrimas et Luctum.” In addition, the music of the concert was seamlessly complemented by modern Ukrainian poetry – works of Yuriy Andrukhovych, Serhiy Zhadan, Mykola Vorobyov, Lina Kostenko, Yuriy Izdryk and Oleh Lysheha.

It should be noted that the support for artists is within the activities program of Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation “Open Ukraine.” As part of the program “Cultural Horizons,” the Foundation provides travel grants to Ukrainian artists to participate in foreign festivals, exhibitions, competitions and thus represent the cultural achievements of modern Ukraine.
