The media project of interactive art «IN BETWEEN» took place in Graz, Austria on June 27 - July 10. Ukraine was represented there by a curator from Kharkiv, a researcher of contemporary art Victoria BAVYKINA. Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation provided Viktoria a travel grant to participate in the project.

The main theme of this year's project was the idea of InBetween - between/through certain phenomena, currents, people, subjects. This term became the quintessence of the whole idea of the project - the space between artists engaged in media art and works exclusively with new multimedia technologies and artists who use more classical materials and techniques in artistic work.

The project was attended by 15 artists from 11 different countries, who created a full-fledged exhibition of interactive art in two weeks.

«My function was to coordinate the work process and to represent Ukrainian contemporary art, to introduce foreign participants into the actual Ukrainian cultural context. The opening of the project, which took place on July 8, attracted about 250 spectators, among them, were cultural figures from Graz, Vienna, and Salzburg. Also during the preparation of the final exhibition, open lectures and workshops for all interested persons, presentation meetings with young cultural actors and young artists about Ukrainian contemporary art and the main trends that are currently dominant there were held» - the curator noted.
