Caricaturist from Ukraine Konstantyn Kazanchev became a participant of the 28th international contest of caricatures «OLENS» (Belgium) and received the prize of the international organization «Amnesty international» in the nomination «Everyone has the right to medical care». Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation supported the Ukrainian, providing him a «travel grant for artists».
The opening of the exhibition and awarding was held on November 11, 2016, in the town named Olen (60 km from Brussels) in the central exhibition hall.
This year the competition was attended by 340 caricaturists with 1089 works from 55 countries. Usually, organizers determine the subject of the competition, and in addition to it the organization «Amnesty international» establishes an additional prize for the nature of its activity for the third year running.
«At the opening, I was awarded the prize, diploma and a catalog of the competition» - K. Kazanchev shared.
In addition to a separate award of «Amnesty international», according to K. Kazanchev`s words, he managed to establish contact with the organizers, local caricaturist, whom he presented catalogs of Ukrainian competition of caricatures and catalogs of his own exhibitions.
«For all the time the competition in Olen had been held they had never seen caricaturist from Ukraine, so it caused a great interest to me personally and to my work», - K. Kazanchev said.
Konstantyn`s caricature was transferred to the newly created social medical center for low-income and disabled people of Olen.

Konstantyn Kazanchev is a member of the National Union of Designers of Ukraine (1991), the Union of Journalists of Ukraine (2010) and the Artists Union (since 2015). His main activity is print design.
In 1982 there was the first publication about him in the press, in 1987 he won the first prize. He is the participant of national and foreign collective exhibitions of caricatures.
He held seven own exhibitions, including foreign one.
Konstantyn is a winner of 82 international competitions of caricatures in different countries of the world. He is also a participant of the international jury competitions of caricatures.
In 2001 he organized an international competition of caricatures «Independence» and held 25 competitions, which involved artists from 78 countries.
In 2002 he founded the Association of Caricaturists (www.cartoon.org.ua). He is a Chairman of the Association of Caricaturists.
The Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation provides travel grants for travel costs for Ukrainian artists to exchange artistic experience at the international level and to improve cooperation between Ukrainian and foreign artists. These grants give Ukrainian artists the opportunity to present their achievements around the world.
