The program “Cultural horizons” gave grants on the translation of more than 12 modern Ukrainian books. These are works of Sergiy Zhadan, Yuriy Andrukhovych, Mariya Matios, Lubko Deresh, Andriy Kurkov and others. The majority of these writers will participate and present their new works at “Literature Country of Dreams” this year.
The Head of Supervisory Council of Open Ukraine Foundation Tereziya Yatsenyuk notes that in Ukraine there is lack of support from state of Ukrainian cultural product and “Country of Dreams” is big event, which connects a lot of artists, who can present themselves and their works. “This is a very important for the development of Ukrainian art and its popularization inside the country – says Mrs. Tereziya. – Ukrainians must know and love their culture for world’s recognition and respect of our art. That’s why Ukraine needs such events to be held. We understand and support this!”
During “Literature Country of Dreams” will work book fair, creative corner of “Master-class” with numerous master-classes and three stages. On the “Literature stage” will be performances, speeches of representatives of ethnic communities, literature and music mixes, Kobzar slam and creative meeting with famous people of Ukrainian literature. On the stage – “Literature kitchen” the writers will cook dishes, tell interesting stories. And on the third stage - “Kurin’” will be presentation of books, poetry readings, theatre performances.
All the events and entrance on the “Literature Country of Dreams” are FREE.
