The International Neighbourhood Symposium is held the second time already. The International Neighbourhood Symposium aims at promotion of cooperation among the countries of Eastern Neighbourhood, the Mediterranean South and others. 38 young experts in politics, business, representatives of civil society and journalists will participate in the conference this year.
The issues of economic well-being, human rights and good governance will be discussed within workshops under the guidance of Professor Benjamin Broome from Arizona State University. The interest to these topics is growing after recent events of ‘Arab spring’, which demonstrated new spirit in societies and new measure of responsibility of Arab countries’ governments. The countries of Eastern Neighbourhood are under similar security challenges and threats, they have similar democratization processes and also they have to establish mechanism of cooperation with the EU and NATO.
